BOISE (AP) - Independent U.S. Senate candidate Rex Rammell Monday accused 10 individuals and the Idaho Republican Party of maligning his campaign with a lawsuit to boot him from November's general election.

The lawsuit alleges some signatures Rammell collected to get on the ballot were forged and that Rammell is inappropriately identifying himself with the GOP.

At a press conference in Boise, Rammell said he's done nothing to "cheat the system."

Secretary of State Ben Ysursa has until Sept. 3 to respond to the lawsuit.

Rammell is running against Democrat Larry LaRocco and Republican Jim Risch to replace U.S. Sen. Larry Craig, who was ensnared in an airport sex sting last year.

LaRocco aides attended Rammell's press conference, distributing fliers accusing Risch allies of seeking Rammell's ouster. Risch has denied involvement.
