BOISE - It's his first walk through Boise State's campus, even though he graduated 11 years ago. Bob Clune never set foot in a classroom. He took his courses online in New York, earning a masters degree in instructional design.
"There was nobody around in my immediate area. I was working full time and married. There was no one around who had this program. I really wanted to study in this field," Clune said.
He's touring around with Don Stepich, an Associate Professor at the College of Engineering. Stepich says the interactive online program is the way to go for students like Clune who juggle work and family.
"You can stay at home. You can do your course work in you pajamas. You can do your course work in the afternoon or the middle of the night, whatever meets your needs," Stepich said.
Clune says it was one of the best decisions he ever made and even though he got his bachelor's degree from Binghamton University, he's remained a Bronco at heart all these years.
"It means a lot, like my wife said, it's like Christmas day here for me today and being here this weekend, this Bronco game is going to be a great thrill," he said.
He's even converted his friends back east into cheering for orange and blue. He says the close ties he feels with this school will never be broken.
"To here it expressed that well and after such a long time is very satisfying for us so we're glad that he's back," Stepich said.
Clune says he's glad to be back, for the very first time.
