BSU ballroom packed for Obama's oath
BOISE -- Even though the crowd at Boise State's Jordan Ballroom watched the inauguration on a big screen TV a continent away, they stood in honor when Barack Obama took the oath.

There were cheers and there were tears as power in the United States was transferred peacefully to the country's first African-American president.

"There's just something about him," BSU student Rama Jagne said. "We really need the change he's promising. I hope that, with the American people, we can get to where we need to be."

Some BSU professors brought their classes to watch.

"As a history professor, I want them to witness it," said Prof. Joanne Klein. "They can say where they were and be able to tell their children."

"It was pretty emotional," said student Brian Lawatch. "I hope this brings some positive change, and I have a lot hope for the future.
