NAMPA - About 2,000 people are scrambling to get their hands on computers, electronics, furniture and other goods at MPC's auction.
"The turnout has been phenomenal," an employee at Great American Group said from the auction Wednesday.
Auction goers are bidding on about 10,000 items - including thousands of laptops, desktop computers, servers, printers, scanners and office furniture.
MPC filed for bankruptcy protection last November and laid off what was left of its work force shortly after. The MPC facility went up for sale or lease in January and is still on the market.
Great American Group is auctioning off more than $50 million in MPC assets.
The auction will be held at the 325,000 square-foot MPC Computers assembly plant.
