BOISE - Residents in one Boise neighborhood say it happens every weekend, without fail. Drivers park illegally on the street before enjoying a day at the local park.
The neighbors say it's more than just a inconvenience, it's also a safety issue for them.
It's not the activities or events Warren Ceglecki minds.
"If they would just simply follow the rules I would be happy," he said.
Depending on the day, it's the danger posed by parking he says is the problem.
"This whole area here as far as you can see is all cars, and then all cars along here, and then they are encroaching on the corner as far as you can get here and over here," said Ceglecki.
Many neighbors along Garden Place agree during week nights and weekends their street is packed with overflow cars from Cassia Park.
"You can't back out of your driveway, you can't do anything like that," said Don Hutton, who lives on the corner of Garden Place.
Hutton says it's frustrating because the signs are clearly visible, but it's more than just being able to get out of their driveways.
"It's a hazard for children, it's a hazard for drivers, and it's a hazard if there is some kind of emergency for fire, or the police department," said Ceglecki.
Boise Police say anyone who parks illegally can face a $36 fine. But Ceglecki says officers he's called about the situation don't always write tickets.
"I think some yellow paint would go a long way," he said.
The Ada County Highway District says if 75 percent of neighbors along a block, like Garden Place want parking conditions changed they'll work with them at no cost.
Ceglecki says he's willing to try larger signs or even make the entire street a no parking zone if it means drivers will follow the rules.
