BOISE - Do you know where your food is coming from?

More and more Idahoans are answering that question by getting their food directly from the source - the farmer.

"We wanted to know exactly where our food was coming from because we feel it's important for the health of our children," said Tyson Wise, who has milk delivered to his home.

According to the U.S Department of Agriculture, direct to consumer farming in the U.S. is gowning more than twice as fast as total agricultural sales. It's actually increased more than 100 percent from 1997-2007, while total agriculture sales grew only 48 percent.

"You get to see where the product is coming from," said Andrew Stolworthy, owner of Boise Milk. It adds a layer of responsibility."

Stolworthy has been delivering milk from the farm to Treasure Valley doorsteps for three years.

Stolworthy says his business has grown from 60 to more than 600 customers.

"We have a small heard and we're family owned," Stolworthy said. "We haven't added a new cow to our heard for more than 30 years so people appreciate the safety and comfort that brings. It's great to be able to buy milk without antibiotics and hormones and people just love it."
