Police: floater rescued, no life jacket
BOISE – A group of floaters may have saved a teen’s life in Boise on Sunday night.

Ada County authorities say they received an emergency call around 8:20 p.m. saying a young man had disappeared on the Boise River, in the area of Park Boulevard and Walnut Street.

Police say the man was floating in a raft with others when it flipped, sending him into the water. His companions told authorities he didn’t swim very well and he looked panicked when they last saw him. No one in the group was wearing a life jacket.

“We had several divers in the river searching,” said Capt. Tom Moore of the Boise Fire Department. “We had numerous firefighters along the greenbelt checking the river banks. We did send a police officer to the tuber take-out…where the suspect was located.”

Police say the teen was clinging to some branches in the water and that’s where he was rescued by another group of floaters. He floated on down to Ann Morrison Park where he was found…a little scared, but ok.
