Elderly Oregon man killed in crash near Council

COUNCIL - A 96-year-old Oregon man was killed over the weekend in a car crash west of Council.

Idaho State Police says Steven Zollman, 60, of Enterprise, Ore., was eastbound on Council Coprum when he drifted off the left side of the road. Police say he hit a ditch and went airborne.

The vehicle, ISP says, rolled when it landed and came to a rest on the opposite side of the road.

Zollman was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in his car, Wilmer Cook, 96, also of Enterprise, died at the scene from his injuries. Alcohol is not thought to be a factor in the crash.
