MIDDLETON - Ryan Stockdale is back in town.
And, thanks to brain surgery, he's doing a lot better.
Karia Stockdale, Ryan's wife, said on Monday that her husband is back home and resting and his pain level has improved.
The pain peaks are lower, she says, and not occurring as often. It's still too soon, however, to determine if the surgery was a complete success.
Ryan has four probes in his brain. Doctors can turn on any probe combination to see if it relieves any of his pain.
"We're really excited," she said. "We were told we wouldn't see any improvement this soon, but we are."
Ryan will go back to the hospital in San Francisco Aug. 26 to turn on another probe that's inside his brain. Those probes have to be turned on gradually.
