BOISE - Neighbors who lived and lost through the Amity Road Inferno, each have their own story. And it's still tough to tell one year later.
Randy Swope's home was the first to burn.
"There was nothing we could do," Swope said. "It was very, very helpless."
Today, the Swope family has rebuilt, and even though they lost almost everything, they're thankful they still have what's most important.
"A fireman was trying to break through my six-year-old's window, and at that point I realized, it's just stuff," he said. "It's just stuff, my family's out here."
According to the City of Boise, 10 homes were destroyed, eight have rebuilt, one is still under construction and the tenth lot is for sale.
On the road up to the street, there's a memorial, a sign that one day, life may return to the hillside.
