Deputies said 33-year-old Jose Pinedaleon opened fire on Interstate 205 near the Stafford Road exit at his ex-girlfriend's black Lexus - leaving this bullet hole.
BATTLE GROUND, Wash. - She did what she had to do to stay alive. Now deputies have her ex-boyfriend in custody charged with attempted murder and first-degree kidnapping.
Deputies said he took her to a remote area of Clark County, near Battle Ground. But it wasn't until after several scary hours, where the woman got shot at and ended up in gravel pit with her estranged boyfriend.
Deputies said the woman got off work from a Milwaukie sports bar early-Saturday morning when her ex-boyfriend showed up. The woman said he was trying to get them back together.
She said she wasn't having it, so she left. However, he wasn't taking "no" for an answer.
Deputies said 33-year-old Jose Pinedaleon then followed her onto Interstate 205 where he opened fire, hitting her black Lexus at least once all while calling her with a very scary message.
"He pulled up alongside of her," said Detective Jim Strovink with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, "and he was calling her - threatening her - and he said, 'If you don't pull over now, I'm going to kill you.'"
Deputies said she then pulled over, and got in his car.
Pinedaleon reportedly then took her to a remote part of Clark County. Squirreled away in a gravel pit, Pinedaleon eventually fell asleep. Deputies said took that as an opportunity.
She took his gun and flagged down a Good Samaritan, who brought her to the Chevron station in Battle Ground. Safe inside the station's restroom, she took the bullets out of the gun and disassembled it before hiding the weapon in her clothes.
Deputies said they caught up with Pinedaleon in Portland Saturday night. He's scheduled to be arraigned 3 p.m., Monday, Nov. 16, in Clackamas County Circuit Court.
Investigators tell KATU they are still trying to answer two questions: where exactly he took her, and who the Good Samaritan is.
