Lehman Neil Delavergne
PE ELL, Wash. -- Lewis County sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who they say shot another man with a crossbow Wednesday night.
Sheriff spokeswoman Stacy Brown said investigators believe 33-year-old Lehman Neil Delavergne hid outside the victim's house and shot him when he walked by just after 8 p.m.
Brown said Delavergne also stabbed the man several times in the torso.
The 26-year-old victim was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and was listed in stable condition.
It was not clear exactly what prompted the attack, but Brown said Delavergne knew the victim.
Delavergne ran off and remains at large.
Brown said Delavergne has lots of friends and relatives in the area. "He may be hunkered down in somebody's house."
Delavergne is white, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with brown hair and weighs about 160 pounds. He was wearing dark clothes at the time of the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 800-748-6422.
