FBI on the hunt for the 'Grandpa Bandit'

SHERWOOD, Ore. - A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of a serial bank robber dubbed the 'Grandpa Bandit.'

According to the FBI, the man is suspected of being involved in the following robberies:

  • Dec. 2 - Bank of America branch at 15961 S.W. Tualatin-Sherwood Road in Sherwood.
  • Oct. 29 - Bank of America branch at 3803 Center Street N.E. in Salem
  • Oct. 14 - Key Bank branch at 750 Lancaster Drive N.E. in Salem

They say he did not brandish a weapon in the most recent robbery but investigators believe he threatened to kill a teller and showed a weapon in one of the previous robberies.

  • White male
  • Between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 10 inches tall
  • Weighs between 160 and 180 pounds
  • Gray hair
  • Light-colored, possibly hazel eyes
  • Clothing: Baseball cap, dark blue zip-up hoodie, jeans, prescription glasses
