Bronco fans plan the 'Fiesta'
BOISE - Sales of Bronco gear are up at every Bronco Shop in Boise. From WAC championship hats to foam fiesta sombrero BSU merchandise is flying off the shelf. Most popular is the DVD copy of the 2007 Bronco Fiesta Bowl appearence.

"We're getting ready to pack the motor-home," said Jay Nagel. "Our whole family will be heading down there."

Nagel and his family plans to decorate their RV and make the 1000 mile trip.

"It just means everything in the world," he said. "It's a great payday for the school. It's a true privilege and an honor to be included in a bowl game like this."

Fans waiting for the BCS selection show earlier today voiced there predictions.

"I think we deserve to go to the sugar bowl," said Karin Larson. "We're 11-0, we played hard, we deserve a bigger bowl game give us a shot."

Other fans didn't care which bowl, as long as it was a big one.

"Fiesta bowl or sugar bowl," said John Bentley. "One of those big bowls."

The Broncos themselves weren't exactly sure - they set out bowls of oranges, sugar cubes and Tostitos chips in the Stueckle Sky Center.

All uncertainty vanished after the announcement. Greeted by cheers and clapping by players, coaches and fans. Now the question turns to how best to travel to see the game.

2news prices out the options. The 1,006 mile drive in a car getting 20 miles per gallon and paying $2.99 a gallon for gas would cost $299. Going by air ranges from $322 on US Airways to $391 on United. Bus was the absolute lowest at $271 for the 29 hour trip on Greyhound.

Travel Agencies are offering packages for the trip as well. Harmon Travel told 2News last week about 50 fans are signed up for the private charter plan. Their packages start at $799 for airfare and hotel. Uniglobe Travel offers deals from $499.

But for those driving, Nagel says the caravan down is always fun. He made the trip back in 2007 for the Fiesta Bowl. He said that he always stops to help drivers with car trouble and plans to this time - provided they have their blue and orange.
