GOP presidential hopeful to tap Boise for campaign cash
BOISE, Idaho (AP) _ Republican presidential hopeful John McCain is getting ready to tap the wallets of Idaho supporters.

The campaign for the Arizona Senator and one of three early G-O-P favorites will host a 250-dollar-a-plate fundraiser in Boise June 15th.

But don't expect to see the Senator at the event. He will apparently be attending a bigger dollar fundraiser in Atlanta the same day, according to his campaign web site.

The event will be hosted instead by campaign surrogates, including McCain's wife, Cindy, and Utah Governor John Huntsman.

The event is somewhat of a surprise for Idaho ... considered by many strategists to be too small for spending valuable money and energy.

But Idaho Republican Party Chairman Kirk Sullivan says he is working hard to get all the party's front-runners to the state this year.

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is the only contender to appear in the Gem State so far when he hosted a fundraiser in Boise in March.
