BOISE - A Boise man has been arrested after police say he threatened to shoot them near Boise State University.

Boise Police says they received a call to help BSU security at about 3 a.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived on the 1000 block of West Cesar Chavez Lane they found the suspect, Chad Buck, 37, had broken a window.

Officials say Buck threatened to shoot the responding officer with what he said was a gun under his shirt, resulting in an assault charge. At one point the man threw a metal coffee cup at a police car causing minor damage.

The suspect refused to show his hands or respond to the officer's commands to surrender. Eventually officers determined the suspect did not have a gun and he was was taken into custody.

During the search of the suspect officers recovered a marijuana pipe.
