A group of pants-less riders boards the Sound Transit light rail train Sunday.
SEATTLE - Hundreds of light rail riders were a little lighter today - they rode the train without pants.
It was all done in the name of art - but it left many regular riders stunned.
"Where are their pants at? Am I missing something?" said Joey Jackson.
Lauren Codington was perplexed, too. "We got on, and everyone had their pants on. As we started, they definitely started to come off."
"We were confused," she added. "We were thinking they were going to take the rest of their clothes off."
The event was the first annual "no-pants light rail ride" put on by Emerald City Improv. The drama group told people to act like any other passenger, but just without pants.
And Seattle wasn't the only place where train riders went pants-free. A similar event also was held Sunday in New York City.
One of those no-pants riders, Andrew Williams, said, "I just completely forgot my pants at home."
Word of Sunday's pants-less ride went viral in just the past week.
Jackson Beach said, "I got the invite on Facebook from a random person that I know a little bit, and it just looked like a great thing."
Bridget Kennedy said she "never" thought she would ride a train with no pants.
"I've gone to some parties with no pants on, but not anything like this," she said.
The improv group that put on Sunday's demonstration said they just want people to look at others in a new way and realize that things aren't always what they seem.
