NAMPA - Things are getting rowdy in Nampa, as the Snake River Stampede gears up for the week's rodeo.
And the hard working, rough-riding community says there's no better way to kick off the festivities than by serving up a hot, hearty, Buckaroo Breakfast.
As hotcakes sizzle, cowboys and cowgirls are warming up and working up quite the appetite inside the Idaho Center.
Krista Chandler, a Nampa resident, makes it a point to come out every year.
"It's fun," Chandler said. "You get to meet people and I enjoy it."
The Buckaroo Breakfast complete with eggs, sausage and pancakes is also filling the pockets of Canyon County's 4H Club.
Dennis Parry, a Stampede Director says it's a great way to boost the group's funds.
"Snake River Stampede's way of giving back to the community to allow the 4-H to be a part of this," Parry said.
While some shake off the early meal, Snake River Stampede Rodeo preparations are lassoing cattle and crowds. Director, Bill Deal, says a lot of work went into the events.
"You look at it as pretty much a year-round preparation for the event, but now it's kind of come to the fruition where we're starting," Deal said.
Because there are too many contestants to compete at night, Deal says based on a draw system, some athletes are already going head-to-head.
The Stampede team of more than 300 volunteers and a handful of directors, appears to be cooking up quite a recipe for the rodeo ahead.
