Man sentenced after girl drowned in boating accident
WEISER, Idaho (AP) — A western Idaho man who pleaded guilty to misdemeanor injury to a child for a boating accident that killed a 2-year-old girl and her father has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.

Washington County Prosecutor Delton Walker says Andrew Pevler of Emmett was sentenced Tuesday to a year in jail, with all but 30 days suspended. He was given credit for four days served and is eligible for work release.

Pevler is prohibited from operating any motorized watercraft for the first of his two years of probation. (Photos from the scene>>>)

Pevler was charged after Emma Borg and her father, Ryker Hooper, drowned in the Snake River on June 3 during a fishing trip in a boat operated by Ryker.

Prosecutors said the girl was not wearing a Coast Guard approved life vest.
