Man crossing State Street killed after hit and run crash

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Police say a man was killed after a hit and run crash early Friday morning.

Boise PD says a man was crossing the street on State Street east of Collister when he was hit by a pickup at about 1:15 a.m.

The victim, who has not been identified, died of his injuries. Police were unable to find the driver.

The vehicle may be a light gold colored smaller pickup, possibly mid to late 90's Ford Ranger type pickup truck. The vehicle will most likely have damage to the front.

This is the second deadly hit and run crash on State Street in about eight days. Officials say 53-year-old Victor Haskell of Garden City was killed when he was struck by Gavin Haley, 31, of Boise. He has been charged him with felony leaving the scene of an accident.

In August, police say a 19-year-old driver hit and critically injured a 24-year-old Garden City man, who's still recovering in the hospital.
