The Ada County Sheriff's Office has cited an 81-year-old Middleton man for inattentive driving after he drove his vehicle the wrong way on Highway 44, police say. Deputies say James Syme was driving west in the eastbound lane of Highway 44 near Can/Ada Road at about 7 a.m. when he collided head on with a pickup truck. Syme was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. No one in the truck was injured. Deputies continue to investigate.
