BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - A drunk man fighting on Main Street over the weekend tried to grab a Boise Police officer's gun, authorities said Monday.
Boise PD says officers saw a fight break out at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. As officers tried to break up the fight, several officers had to pull off one of the men involved in the fight, 21-year-old Michael Kalange. Officers say when they started to walk Kalange away from the fight scene, he tried to grab the officer's gun and attempted to remove the weapon.
Another struggle ensued and officers had to physically restrain 21-year-old. As a result of the take down, Kalange suffered a head injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was later booked into the Ada County Jail on a felony charge of attempting to remove a weapon from law enforcement.
