BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Boise Police say they have arrested the suspect in a reported armed robbery at a business near the Boise Towne Square Mall Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the business is located in the 500 block of N. Milwaukee, which is the Famous Footwear shoe store.

Officers say the victim told them the female suspect walked up to a clerk, showed a handgun, and demanded money. The suspect then left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim called police immediately and was able to provide a quick, accurate description of the woman, according to police.

"The presence of mind of the victim, reporting the crime quickly with an accurate suspect description, and the quick response of officers made all the difference in finding this suspect so quickly," said Sgt. Jeff Basterrechea of the Boise Police Patrol Division in a press release.

Officers and deputies responded to the area and began searching.

10 minutes later, police say they found Kellie Drake, 33, of Boise in a nearby hotel and that she matched the suspect description.

Officers say Drake had evidence she was responsible for the robbery. Police say she also had items on her that were reported stolen from another nearby store.

Boise Police say she is also a felon who is prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Drake was arrested and charged with felony robbery, felon in possession of a firearm, and burglary.
