Boise firefighter statue headed to Arizona
BOISE, Idaho- A firefighter statue has been standing in front of the Boise Airport at arrivals for years now. The display of honor and respect was removed Sunday morning.

The statue is being flown to Prescott, Arizona, to pay tribute to the 19 firefighters who lost their lives last weekend after a wildfire took an unexpected turn.

"The magnitude of loss of the hot shots... it's the least we can do," said Burk Minor, who is the Wildland Firefighter Foundation Director. "I think those attending the memorial service will love to see the nearly 10 foot bronze statue on the platform."

It took a crane, trailer and charter plane to get the statue to Arizona. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday and then the statue will make it's way back to Boise.
