'This was more of a finish line for me then the actual finish of the race'
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Local runners who were returning from the Boston Marathon describe what they witnessed, and how there family felt when they got home.

Shannon Deboer is a Boise runner who finished the marathon almost an hour before the explosion. She was only a block away because she was getting on a bus to head back to the start line. Many described it as two loud bangs with a shock wave people could feel. They said the worst part was not knowing what was happening.

As those runners returned to Boise many said they were just happy to see friends and family waiting to greet them.

"It was very emotional I felt like this was more of a finish line for me then the actual finish of the race," said Deboer. "It's comforting to be home and to know that I'm someplace safe."

A total of 90 runners were signed up for the race, and none of them were injured by the explosion.
