BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - While BSU's football team is regrouping upon hearing that Coach Petersen is going to University of Washington, so is the rest of Boise State's student body.

"I mean, what are we going to do?" Asked Bobby Mueller, a student at BSU, "I don't know. Hopefully we can pull it out."

BSU students say they're left wondering if their team will ever be the same after the coach they put their faith in leaves.

"We're just bummed out that he's leaving," said Trace Finn, a BSU student, "We're not mad at him. We're just bummed."

Some say it hurts that their coach is leaving the Broncos for a team that beat them earlier this season.

"It's the worst," Mueller said, "Especially after losing to them in the home opener. If he went anywhere in the country, I'd be a bandwagon fan, all for Coach Pete and his successes. But going to Washington...it's just tough for us. It's a low blow."

Despite the setback, people on campus say they still can't help but be fans of the man who helped build Bronco Football into what it is today.

"I'm happy for him, because he's a great coach," said Brandon Walton, a Boise State student, "He deserves it, so I'm happy to see he's going to get a bigger and better opportunity."
