Drunk driver found asleep behind wheel, booze in lap, police say

NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) -- A 36-year-old Caldwell man was found drunk, asleep and with booze in his lap inside his vehicle early Monday morning in the middle of the road, Nampa Police says.

Officials say officers were called to Northside Boulevard and 3rd Street South for a suspicious vehicle. Officers say they found Troy Scott asleep inside the vehicle with the engine running. He later failed field sobriety tests and blew a breath alcohol sample that was more than two times the legal limit.

Scott has prior felony DUIs, which made this one a felony as well. He's been booked into the Canyon County Jail.
