Deputies: Ore. man puts tiny dog into oven heated to 350 degrees

LYONS, Ore. -- A Lyons man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated animal abuse for allegedly placing a Chihuahua-Pincher dog in a heated oven.
Kevin Dean Parrish, 20, was booked Monday in the Marion County Jail in lieu of $10,000.
Marion County deputies said Parrish was watching the 9-pound dog, Kudo, for his grandmother, who was out of state.
Parrish told deputies he became enraged on Friday after Kudo nipped him, so he grabbed the dog and allegedly started punching him in the head. Deputies said Parrish also admitted to trying to strangle Kudo, according to a news release from the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Since he had already pre-heated the oven to 350 degrees to cook some enchiladas, Parrish told investigators he then decided to allegedly put the dog in the oven, deputies said.
"Parrish said he was prepared to leave him there, but he suddenly heard his brother coming into the house," the news release said.
Parrish' brother and father rescued 6-year-old Kudo, taking the dog to a veterinarian. Kudo suffered cuts and bruises, his hair was singed and three of his legs were badly burned, deputies said.
The suspects father notified deputies about the case, and they launched an investigation.
Parrish, who has no criminal record, admitted to deputies that he has anger issues and snapped when dealing with the dog.
Parrish's father is taking care of Kudo and the dog will continue receiving care at the vet clinic.

Such cruel behavior is uncalled for. Â If he has such anger management issues then he needs to stay in jail to protect society (and animals) until he can control his anger. Â Who would be the next victim of his anger - children?, the ill and elderly?Â
I have a tiny chihuahua dog and this made me cry, She is the most precious thing and to have someone abuse a little one like this is unreal. Â Why did she nip him, was he mistreating her then. Someone should do to him the same and she how he likes it. Â Our laws are way to lack on this issue, animals are helpless and we need to protect them. Â Hope this baby is doing well.

Anger issues? What a cop out!  This is a 21 year old adult who knows better. No, the animal cruelty laws are not strict enough. The father should be commended for having the courage to file a report. Words cannot express how angry this makes me. What a jerk!
People who are cruel to animals like that should also be sterilized, what if it had been a baby instead of a dog?
 @RAH1124 This has made me so angry I am shaking! He should definitely not be allowed to have a child or furthermore any access to the elderly, children, animals,etc. We definitely need to have tougher punishments on animal abuse in this country.
