CALDWELL, Idaho (KBOI) --A 19-year-old driver was taken to the hospital after a crash in Canyon County.
It happened around 6:15 a.m. Thursday, on Karcher Road near the intersection of Midway Road.
Idaho State Police said Matthew Johnson, of Caldwell, was travelling down Karcher Road and somehow lost control. The car veered off the road, slid along a pipe, and eventually flipped onto its hood. Troopers said if the pipe wasn't there, the car would have steered into a canal.
Troopers aren't sure how the crash happened.
Johnson was wearing a seatbelt and the airbags did deploy. He ws taken to St. Alphonsus in Nampa.
