FILER, Idaho (KBOI) -- A police officer seen on dash cam video shooting and killing an aggressive dog was justified in doing so, a new police report states.

The Nampa Police's report is a mixed bag, but the bottom line is that an investigator at NPD ruled there's no wrong doing.

In the report, he says the officer had prior information that the dogs might be aggressive and his failure to develop or consider any realistic non-lethal plan for dealing with the dogs was not reasonable. | Read the Report

The report goes on to say, however, that the fact that an officer negligently gets himself into a dangerous situation will not make it unreasonable for him to use force to defend himself.

At the time of the shooting, officer Terek Hassani feared for his safety providing justification for the shooting of the dog.
