Several cars shot at Firebird Raceway

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Several cars in the parking lot at Firebird Raceway were struck by bullets fired by nearby hunters who were doing target practice Saturday afternoon.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office says that the two hunters were in a legal shooting area when they inadvertently shot the cars.

No injuries were reported, but the sheriff's office says that its initial response was to investigate an active shooter at the raceway, which meant a pretty heavy law enforcement presence.

The sheriff's office also says that even though the shooters were in an area that is legal for shooting, they were still cited for reckless discharge of a firearm.

Deputies are still investigating the incident.
