Garden City debates law cracking down on parties
GARDEN CITY, Idaho - The Garden City, City Council is debating a new ordinance to crack down on parties.

If the new ordinance passes, violators could faces fines and even jail time.

"It is to hold criminally accountable people who throw parties or functions that are disruptive to the neighborhood," said Garden City Prosecuting Attorney Charles Wadams.

Wadams says it's a public safety issue. He says the city gets complaints about parties and noise and this ordinance would help police enforce the rules.

"An isolated noise complaint will not be prosecuted. It's for those on going violations that we are concerned about," said Wadams.

Monday night was the first reading of the ordinance.
