Missing Boise man found safe in Nevada

BOISE, Idaho --An elderly man reported missing from Boise on Friday was found safe and sound in Nevada, police officials said Sunday afternoon.

Police said that 71-year-old Clarence Owsley was located by the Humbolt County Sheriffs Office in Nevada, where he currently is waiting for family members to take him home.

Humbolt Sheriffs identified Owsley from information that Boise PD entered into a national database of missing persons.

Residents at Owsley's group home reported him missing Friday night after he left that morning for a walk and never returned.

Residents at the group home told police that Owsley often takes long walks.

Officials have not released any information about how Owsley made it across state lines.

Police said that Owsley does not have any immediate family living in Boise, however family members have been notified about his disappearance and recovery. They were alerted to pick him up from HCSO custody.
