Head-on crash sends five to hospital, kills Parma woman

CANYON COUNTY, Idaho (KBOI) - A Parma woman was killed in a head-on crash Saturday evening in Canyon County.

CANYON COUNTY, Idaho (KBOI) - A Parma woman was killed in a head-on crash Saturday evening in Canyon County.

The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Near Purple Sage Road.

Idaho State Police says 25-year-old Spook C. Meras, of Notus, was driving east on US 20-26 and drove into the westbound lane, striking a car head-on. Deputies say 74-year-old Eloy Montoya, of Parma and his wife Tillie were in the car driving west.

The Montoyas, along with Meras and two children in his car, were all taken to St. Alphonsus in Boise. Tillie Montoya died from her injuries in the hospital.

According to ISP, Eloy and Tillie Montoya and Meras' two passengers were all wearing seat belts. Meras was not.

The highway was closed in both directions for around three hours, but has since been re-opened. Idaho State Police and the Canyon County Sheriff's Office are still investigating the crash.
