Driver runs red light, crash kills elderly woman, ISP says

MIDDLETON, Idaho (KBOI) - A 72-year-old woman died after getting hit by an onion truck Thursday morning.

Idaho State Police say 22-year-old Katelyn Bergland was driving an onion truck ran when she ran a red light on Highway 20/26 and Middleton Road and smashed into the elderly woman's passenger vehicle.

ISP says Marlene Miller died at the scene of the crash.

The crash was reported at about 9:10 a.m. No word yet on any citations or possible charges.
