Two sent to hospital after crash on Highway 55 at Banks

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Two people have been taken to the hospital after a crash on Highway 55 Friday afternoon.

Idaho State Police say the crash happened at 4:30 p.m. in front of the Banks store.

Police say the 22-year old Garden Valley driver of a 1975 Chevrolet pickup truck was trying to turn left onto Highway 55 from the parking lot of the store when she collided with a 2014 Dodge Avenger.

ISP says the driver of the Avenger, a 43-year-old Arizona man, was taken by ambulance to St. Alphonsus in Boise. His passenger, a 60-year-old woman also from Arizona, was flown by helicopter to St. Alphonsus.

Police did not release any specifics about their injuries.

Highway 55 was reduced to one lane for two and a half hours while they cleared the scene.
