Crews responding to 2-alarm house fire in Meridian
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Firefighters responded to a 2-alarm house fire in Meridian Friday night.

The house is located on the 1400 block of East Palermo Street, which is near the Victory and Locust Grove intersection.

Meridian and Boise fire departments showed up to the fire that they say started in the garage. Meridian Battalion chief, David Jones says that when fire trucks arrived, flames started spreading to the upstairs sections of the house.

Fire crews used latters to get to the second floor and had to punch out sections of the roof and attic to ventilate the fire and keep it from spreading.

Jones says that two men were working in the garage at the time of the fire and that they were able to get out of the house. He says that the two men were treated at the scene with minor burns and that they seemed ok.

The chief could not say if the work the men were doing in the garage had anything to do with the fire but fire officials are still investigating. No fire crews were injured. There was heavy damage to the garage and upstairs rooms.
