Committee OKs tax break for clinics that don't perform abortions

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Nonprofit pregnancy resource centers that do not perform abortions could get a tax break under a bill approved in a House committee.
The Spokesman Review reports the House Revenue and Taxation Committee signed off on legislation Wednesday that would define those centers as "health-related entities."
Sponsors say the exemption would cost the state less than $10,000 yearly in sales tax. McCammon Republican Rep. Kelly Packer said some pregnancy centers thought they were initially eligible for tax breaks and are now being asked to pay several years' worth back taxes.
The bill got push back from Boise Democrat Rep. Grant Burgoyne, who disagrees with changing the tax code on behalf of one specific nonprofit.
The bill will now be sent to the full House for debate.

Tax benefits to 1 clinic for women because it follows your own personal beliefs while depriving the other (nationally recognized) clinic because they don't subscribe to your personal beliefs?? Sorry, I thought this was 21st century America, not a 19th century Islamic state!
Just another example of people using political power to advance their own personal beliefs. They only want to protect the rights of those whom they feel worthy. These clinics ALL help WOMEN. But only Planned Parenthood is totally free and supportive of all women with complete NON judgement or discrimination. SHAME on Idaho lawmakers. Shame on such self-righteous people in this state to make laws which benefit only those who fall in line with their personal life doctrines. It's 2013, not 1813!!
Why are they even wasting time on this - because someone in the taxation committee is against abortions - so lets change tax laws to punish them.......................Boise Democrat Rep. Grant Burgoyne is correct on this one.
@CorgiRiffik I'm female,Christian,a widowed Mother who is personally completely against abortion. HOWEVER, when states or countries make laws based purely on a fixed set of personal life doctrines,it embarks on a dangerous road toward a religious dictatorship. Not unlike the Islamic dictatorships we have such disdain for.
