BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - The owner of the Idaho Aquarium is facing charges that he illegally brought fish to the Gem State.

And while Ammon Covino and his business partner Christopher Conk await their court date in Florida, the aquarium is making changes in hopes of preventing trouble in the future.

Officials are putting together an extensive checklist for all sea-life and requirements to obtain them.

Nathan Hall, aquarium biologist, believes customers appreciate the effort.

"Our guests have been thrilled with the changes at the Idaho Aquarium," Hall said.

Since the arrests last month, the aquarium has been working closely with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Idaho Fish and Game and the Idaho Department of Agriculture.

Ammon and Conk are facing 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
