Elderly women dies, child hospitalized in Idaho crash

RUPERT, Idaho (KBOI) - Idaho State Police says an elderly women died in a crash Monday evening in Minidoka County.

ISP says 87-year-old Eyvonne Carter was driving on Highway 25 when she failed to yield to a 19-year-old driver. The teen was uninjured but a child in his vehicle was taken to a local hospital.

Alcohol is not a factor, ISP says, in the crash and it is unknown if seatbelts were worn by all parties.

The crash is still under investigation.
