Idaho airman killed in Afghanistan

SANDPOINT, Idaho.- Military officials say an Air Force captain from Sandpoint, Idaho was killed by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon says 28 David Lyon of Sandpoint was killed when the IED exploded near the vehicle Lyon was in. It happened in Kabul.

Lyon was assigned to the 21st Logistics Readiness Squadron at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado. He was serving a year long deployment and worked with Afghan National Army commandos.
