TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KBOI) - The Idaho Transportation Department has re-opened Interstate84 east of Twin Falls after numerous crashes.

Slick highway conditions combined with dense fog created hazardous conditions on the interstate between mileposts 188 (Valley Road) and 208. Law enforcement officers responded to an estimated 10 crashes involving semi-trucks and about 20 involving passenger vehicles on the stretch of I-84 at mid-morning today.

The eastbound lanes were closed at 11:07 a.m., and traffic was diverted onto a local frontage road at milepost 188. The eastbound interstate remained closed at mid-afternoon.

Westbound I-84 was closed about 12 minutes after eastbound lanes, diverting traffic at milepost 208.

Motorists traveling on I-84 in southern Idaho are encouraged to drive slowly and be prepared for adverse conditions.
