Water levels begin to drop at Lucky Peak

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - The valves are open at lucky peak, and water is now flowing into the canal system for irrigation.

This week, water levels will drop about a half foot every 24 hours. Water managers say by next week, the lake will begin dropping a foot and half each day.

This comes a month earlier than usual because of the dry winter. The experts say it will start affecting boat docks soon. That's leaving boaters like Andy Woodbridge worried.

"The low water levels make it highly congested," said Woodbridge, "You're trying to compete with other boaters for space especially when you're tubing or wakeboarding.  "

When the water starts getting too low for boat ramps, the first one to close down will be the ramp at Robie Creek, and the last will be Turner Gulch, if it has to close at all.
