Melba woman gets 30 years for shooting Nampa man

CALDWELL, Idaho (KBOI) - A woman who shot and killed a 59-year-old man last year will spend up to 30 years in prison.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reported Tuesday that Nicole Lee Kirtley, 35, of Melba, was sentenced in Canyon County Court for involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of 59-year-old George Richardson, Jr.

She will have to serve a minimum of nine years in prison before she's eligible for parole.

Kirtley was originally charged with murder and grand theft for her involvement in Richardson's death, Canyon County officials said.

During the investigation, detectives found that Richardson's red 1997 Jeep Wrangler was missing from the house.

A tip lead them south of Melba, where investigators said they found the Jeep partially submerged in the Snake River.
