Officers who shot and killed Meridian man won't face charges
MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) - The Twin Falls Prosecutor's Office said Friday that a deadly officer involved shooting late last year was justified.

In December, four Meridian Police officers shot and killed 38-year-old Eric O. Dilworth of Meridian , after officials say he went toward them with a knife that caused them to be fearful of their safety.

"I have concluded that the shooting was a justified use of deadly force necessitated by the threat Mr. Dilworth posed to numerous Meridian Police Officers and the public," Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney Grant Loebs said.

Meridian Police said in December that a short time after officers arrived in the parking lot at 1983 E. Wilson Lane, they were confronted by Dilworth.

Officers yelled to the man to drop the weapon but he did not, Meridian PD says, and instead moved toward the officers in an aggressive fashion.

All four officers fired their weapons.
