Police: Man shot in neck after BB gun target shooting in apartment
MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (KBOI) - A 56-year-old man was shot in the neck after target practice inside a Mountain Home apartment, Mountain Home Police said.

MHPD said Tuesday officers were called out to 405 North 2nd East for an accidental shooting call.

When police arrived, Gregory Smith, 57, told officers he and his friends were shooting at a target in the apartment with a BB gun when one of the BB's ricocheted - hitting the 56-year-old man in the back of the neck.

The BB penetrated his skin and the victim was transported to Elmore Medical Center in Mountain Home. The injury does not appear to be life threatening.

Authorities says alcohol may have been a factor. Smith was cited for injury by discharge of a firearm.
