Motorcyclist seriously injured in Nampa collision

NAMPA, Idaho (KBOI) - Nampa Police say just before 5:00pm Saturday, a motorcycle was heading East on Garrity Boulevard near the intersection of Kings Street when a pickup heading Westbound tried to make a left turn into a parking lot.

The motorcycle slammed into the passenger side of the pickup causing what authorities say are serious injuries to the person on the motorcycle.

The rider, who is described as a man in his forties, was rushed to St. Alphonsus hospital. Officers say the man wasn't wearing a helmet.

The driver of the truck was taken to a Nampa area hospital with unknown injuries. Both Eastbound lanes of traffic had to be closed for several hours while police conducted their investigation.

Nampa Police said on Monday that no citations have been issued at this time. Because of the severity of the crash, officials will do a full reconstruction, which could take a couple of weeks.
