New Micron CEO named
BOISE, Idaho - The Micron Board of Directors has named president and chief operating officer Mark Durcan as the company's permanent CEO.

The board meet before stocks open again Monday. Micron trading was halted Friday when Appleton died.

Kevin Jones, who manages stock portfolios, says if the right person wasn't selected as Appleton's replacement there could be an impact on trading.

"I think it's very important the board realize that the person they have replace Steve has a vision and needs to be a forward thinker and not just an operating guy," Jones said. "It needs to be someone who recognizes businesses change over time and how to take advantage and survive those changes"

Jones says Micron is one of the greatest survivors in corporate America, because Appleton was that visionary. He adds that Durcan is also a visionary, and has been an important driver of the company so stock holders and employees should not be worried.
