New sleep clinic helps adults and children with sleep disorders
MERIDIAN - Studies show a good night's sleep makes all the difference in your health.

That's why the Saint Alphonsus Sleep Disorder clinics test both adults and children for various sleep problems.

The newest center to open is in the Meridian Health Plaza.

Physicians will test for sleep apnea, insomnia, restless leg syndrome and more.

Patients go in for overnight testing and physicians can determine the best route for a good night's sleep.

"You should think of sleep as an equivalent to your diet, your exercise, your water consumption," said Dr. Jennifer Hale. "It is the foundation of your health. Chronic sleep deprivation leads to chronic health problems."

Dr. Hale said the average adult needs 8 1/2 to 9 hours of sleep per night.

For kids under the age of 10, it's about 10 hours per night.

The new sleep center is located on Cherry Lane in Meridian.
