BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Boise Police says the woman who told officials she had been sexually assaulted at a North End home made the story up.
Earlier in the week, police said a woman told them she was returning home early in the morning on Wednesday around 2 a.m., when a man confronted her and pushed her through the front door of her house and then sexually assaulted her inside the home.
As detectives investigated the incident and followed up on evidence, BPD says the victim recanted her report of the sexual assault today, telling detectives she made up the story.
Detectives will forward the case on to prosecutors who will then decide whether she will face any charges. Filing a false police report is a misdemeanor.
